aivi & surasshu composing for Steven Universe

aivi & surasshu are composing for the Cartoon Network show Steven Universe, created by the amazing Rebecca Sugar! We’ve been scoring music behind the scenes and we’re thrilled to share the first video that includes our music with everybody.

Rebecca Sugar’s work as a storyboard artist and songwriter on Adventure Time is fantastic, and we instantly fell in love with Steven Universe and its diverse characters. The music that we’ve been writing for the show draws inspiration from both classical and pop genres, synth and acoustic sounds, and of course, what the two of us are best at: videogame music!

The show premieres November 4th on Cartoon Network. It’s amazing and we hope you’ll enjoy it!

Adventure Time game - It's a fungeon!

A project just went public that I was very proud to have been a small part of (I did some of the sound design on it): from Wayforward, Adventure Time: Explore The Dungeon Because I Don't Know! (yeah, that's a mouthful). Here's the trailer, in which you can see the game in action (I think some of my sound design can even be heard!), but more excitingly hear some of Ian Stocker's excellent music for the game.

The game is coming out for 360, PS3, Wii U, and 3DS, and I really think it'll be an excellent game regardless of my involvement with it, so definitely check it out if you have any of those devices.

Cryamore in action

This Youtube video has been up for a little while, but I thought I'd put it up anyway since it demonstrates some of the new sound design that I've been doing for Cryamore. Right now Cryamore is my main sound design project, and it's a super fun project to do, since everybody wants the game to be super reminiscent of earlier RPGs. This means designing in an iconic, non-"realistic" style, and I always love doing that. Of course some of the sounds haven't been implemented yet (for example when drilling, the "rock destroy" sounds aren't in yet), but the menu stuff is there and I think it's coming together quite nicely.

You can also hear an (early early) beta of a new song that Aivi Tran is making, too!
